What you will do

In this position your mission will be to help research, design and develop new products for the power electronics systems for our innovative electrolyzer systems. You will work along with the product development team to define the requirements of the power electronics system of the electrolyzer. You will be the founding member of the power electronics group and will help the founders build up a team around this expertise.


Your responsibilities

  • Defining the architecture, requirements, and specification for few kW to multi-MW scale power electronics equipment

  • Provide technical leadership to a small team of engineers, lead and manage new power electronics development as we go from lab-bench to pilot to commercial stage

  • Interacts with the product development teams (design, electrochemical, process engineering) to define functional and specific requirements of the power electronics system of the electrolyzer.

  • Design and analyse analog circuitry, digital signals, PWMs and GPIO

  • Build in-house simulation capabilities for power systems and power electronics.

  • Supporting equipment testing and troubleshooting

  • Interact with suppliers to evaluate their technical qualifications and handle negotiations for procurement


Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power electronics

  • 4+ years of industrial experience in relevant industries such as power electronics, renewable energy, traction and rail, high power motor drives, high current rectifiers

  • Strong knowledge of power electronics components and/or power systems.

  • An unquenchable thirst for knowledge and the ability to quickly adapt to new situations. Enthusiasm and curiosity for all things green hydrogen!

  • Excited to join a startup and put in the hustle required to get things done!


Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s/ PhD degree in electrical engineering with focus on power electronics

  • Previous experience in managing power electronics projects from feasibility to deployment

  • Hands on experience with 600V and 1200V class switching power converters

  • Power topologies including AC-DC (PFC), isolated DC-DC and DC-AC experience

  • Familiar with power semiconductors: MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, etc

  • Experience with GAN and SiC power components

  • Experience with EMI design and troubleshooting

  • Experience with Soft-switching and resonant topologies

  • Familiar with MATLAB/Simulink, PSPICE
