What you will do

In this position your goal will be to design our electrolyzer stack with additive manufacturing in mind. You are expected to be an expert on CAD/CAM and design for manufacturability especially as related to additive manufacturing. You will work with the design and simulation team as well as key additive manufacturing vendors and partners to help manufacture our electrolyzer stack from prototype to commercial scale. Any optional experience in stereolithography (SLA), selective laser sintering (SLS) or PolyJet printing will be appreciated. 


Your responsibilities

  • Perform design for manufacturability using CAD/CAM tools 

  • Perform engineering calculations to support design concepts, including stress analysis for mechanical robustness and tolerance stack-up analysis

  • Work with additive manufacturing vendors and partners to carry out rapid prototyping activities in collaboration with design and simulations team

  • Manage, schedule and track multiple prototype production and processes and oversee documentation for the prototyping of electrolyzer stacks and systems including test plans, technical reports, drawings, bill of material and assembly processes

  • Verify conformance of printed parts to required specifications

  • Analyse, develop and document new practices and procedures as project shifts from prototype to pilot to production


Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 3+ years of industrial experience in 3D CAD/CAM modelling, understanding mechanical drawings and measuring techniques of engineering parameters. Good understanding of both plastic / metal part design and process

  • 3+ years of industry experience in designing and analysing precision components for complex assemblies from concept to fabrication. Projects completed should include design, simulation, drawings, fabrication and testing.

  • 3+ years of experience with CAD/CAM software such as CREO, Solidworks, NX, Fusion 360, or others (at least one)  

  • An unquenchable thirst for knowledge and the ability to quickly adapt to new situations. Excited to join a startup and put in the hustle required to get things done!


Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in additive manufacturing or rapid prototyping

  • 6+ years of industrial experience with additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping, especially with techniques such as SLA, SLS, DMLS, SLM etc. 

  • 3+ years using SLA printers and experience with slicing software.

  • Knowledge of mechanical and technical data of materials used for 3D printing
